At the core of SAA's practice lies a commitment to contextual architecture — buildings that emerge from and respond to their surroundings rather than imposing upon them. Every project begins with a deep reading of the site: its topography, climate, cultural history, and the daily rhythms of the people who will inhabit it.
We approach each commission as a unique proposition, resisting the temptation of a signature style in favour of solutions that are specific, considered, and inevitable. Our work is characterised by a material honesty — the use of natural stone, exposed concrete, timber, and glass in combinations that age gracefully and establish a dialogue with the landscape.
The practice operates at the intersection of architecture, landscape, and urban design, believing that the boundaries between these disciplines are artificial. A building is never isolated; it exists within a web of relationships — to the ground, to the sky, to the street, and to the community it serves.
Sustainability is not an add-on but an inherent quality of good architecture. By working with climate rather than against it, by specifying locally sourced materials, and by designing for longevity rather than novelty, SAA creates buildings that are both environmentally responsible and deeply humane.

SAA's multidisciplinary team of architects, designers, and researchers work collaboratively from studios in Ahmedabad and Palitana. Led by principal architect Sadik Agaria, the team combines international experience with local expertise, bringing a diverse range of perspectives to every project.
The practice fosters a culture of rigorous inquiry and creative exploration. Regular design reviews, research seminars, and visiting critic programmes ensure that the work remains intellectually engaged and continually evolving.
